New episode out now.
To kick off the show this week we start with UK Metal/Grime crew Hacktivist who have just unleashed their second single Reprogram https://youtu.be/nY9PJWSnuhY taken from their upcoming release Hyperdialect
Co-vocalist Jot Maxi comments:
"There’s a double meaning to this one. Society needs reprogrammed, Hacktivist has been reprogrammed, so if you’re listening and you’re vibing out to it, have a little think about what you might need to do in your own life to reprogram – to make yourself like yourself better, or to have less regret.
"Society needs a reboot, our band has had a reboot, so why don’t you? At the same time, it’s got this little science fiction story within it, about a future that breaks down and actually needs reprogrammed from zero. In an ideal world, hopefully, we will have all reprogrammed before anything like that happens to us for real."
Hyperdialect will be released on 18th June 2021 via UNFD, and is available to pre-order here: https://unfd.lnk.to/hyperdialect
Hacktivist recently announced a special one-off headline show to celebrate the release of Hyperdialect. Set to take place on 29th July 2021 at London's Signature Brew, support will come from rising artist Kid Bookie who features on the band's single 'Armoured Core'.

Reprogramme for me is classic Hacktivist big riffs with thick bass lines that hit hard almost like a punch to the chest, mixed with grime elements, lyrically reprogramme is genius production is great crisp clean as always from these guys who are never afraid to keep pushing boundaries, I can’t speak highly enough of these guys they are great at their own induvial crafts and bring this all together to give us their unique sound, a great track to kick off the show with.
Next track of the week
They Fell From The Sky who are making their Setting The Tone debut
They Fell From The Sky who are Colin Doran - Vocals
Jason Bowld - Drums
Dave Draper - Guitars, Programming
Lee Erinmez – Bass
Oly Edkins - Guitars, Backing Vocals
Release a brand new track crush https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atL5uqqRNKw
They Fell From The Sky formed after Colin Doran (Hundred Reasons) and Jason Bowld (Bullet For My Valentine, Pitchshifter, Killing Joke) got together for Jason’s collaborative project ‘This Is Menace’. They then started writing with Dave Draper and completed the line up with Lee Erinmez (Snuff) and Oly Edkins.
Once in the studio the band’s songwriting flourished and an album began to take shape, blending the multitude of styles each member brought to the table. The songs started to flow and the sound honed to make the unique songwriting juggernaut that is ‘They Fell From The Sky’.
Their upcoming single ‘Dry’ is a perfect example of the bands ability to mix their heavier backgrounds with mainstream appeal, taken from their debut album due for release in the Spring of 2021. The album is produced by the band’s guitarist Dave Draper, who’s best known for his work with The Wildhearts, The Professionals and Kerbdog.
Commenting on the track, vocalist and lyricist Colin Doran explains: “It’s about people who are consistently only apologetic when absolutely caught out; But are not actually sorry at all.”

what I love about Crush is a can hear an element of Rise against us, this punk rock vibe with big hooks and melody but the guys here are not afraid not add their own ideas on this track weather that be a slight growl on the vocals as an example
I really like crush and I’m keen to see what else comes from They Fell From the Sky
Next this week is the return of One Last Day
South-East rockers ONE LAST DAY are proud to unleash their new single THIS BOTTLE GOT ME
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyigRypD1ZM&feature=youtu.be
About One Last Day
It started with a single jam session between two guitar loving friends. Gareth Stapleton and John Harmsworth knew they had the start of something that could work. With a shared desire to deliver heavy yet accessible music, One Last Day's journey was born. Of course, at this point there were no other members, no plan, not even the name!
Through the creative development, the guys started playing with different musicians and cementing the direction they wanted to progress, with the addition of Adrian Osman on drums, they found a kindred spirit and also the solid backdrop on which they could deliver. As active members of the South East music scene, they already knew of the vocal prowess of Alex Willox, and after a few hours in a dingy practice room, One Last Day had found its voice, literally.
ONE LAST DAY are:
Alex Willox - Vocals
Gareth Stapleton – Rhythm Guitar and Backing Vocals
John Harmsworth – Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals
Bob Brockwell - Bass
Adrian Osman – Drums

Okay so this is a welcome back to the show for this band and I recall speaking about their debut single and like I don’t want to slam this because the positive is it’s a new band coming out during a pandemic and all thou I was not blown away by their debut single, I wanted to hear what else was to come rather than just shutting them down, well I’m pleased with the latest offering
What I like straight away is the tone of Alex vocals it reminds me a little bit of Howard Jones vocals what is love single The chorus has a massive hook will and will easily have you pulled in, the tempo is really important on this as track is not afraid to speed up or slow down at any stage, and this even time for a bit of a Rammstein influence towards the end where the words I lose my mind are being reparteed, overall it’s a great follow up single and there is plenty of room for this band to grow.
Lastly this week we have Next up is a band who are no strangers to Setting The Tone, welcome back to NO:IR who have just unleashed their brand new single Phantom
Since their debut in 2019, Bristol-based Nu-Metal five-piece NO:IR have evolved their sound from their hardcore roots to create a modern fusion from a host of genres. They take deep inspiration - and their name, from Film Noir, often characterised by cynicism, intricate plots and existential philosophy.
With four previous successful singles under their belt, the band have achieved more than 100,000 streams on Spotify. Their innate blend of rap and metal draws on an array of influences including emo, hip-hop and dark pop. This has resulted in a signature re-imagination of the Nu-Metal sound; their upcoming single Phantom due for release May 7th 2021, captures this perfectly.
Produced, Mixed and Mastered with Josh Gallop (Phoxjaw) at Stage 2 Studios in Bath, Phantom challenges and explores the honesty and authenticity around an artist’s image. Established artists show a diverse variety of personalities, with some being completely transparent about their feelings and life stories; and some being the opposite, creating new identities or writing about fictitious situations in order to seem more appealing or interesting.

I wont lie and pretend to hide my excitement these guys have been on my radar for a while I really love what they have to offer.
Phantom is a slightly different take on what has come before, it’s a slightly more melodic feel almost like this is NO:IR ballad and that’s fine there is almost like a grime feel to phantom, bars are being spit.
Overall it’s different from what has come before there is not as much high energy behind this, but this is perfect for a set as you can bring the pace down with this track and pick up later.
