My thoughts on 'I really enjoyed Awake // Sedate I loved the riff in the chorus really has a crunch to it, the production on the track is really clean and it felt like there hints of influences from Deftones SOM with Caspain really have come up with such a cool track, lyrically its very mesmerizing and its to chill too, and with the help of Caspain you get this punchy riff driving sets of guitars and I really like this track. Go and check this one out
HAIL THE SUN have announced their highly-anticipated fifth full-length album, New Age Filth, set for release on 16th April via Rude Records (UK/EU) Equal Vision (NA). To celebrate the announcement, the band have shared the passionate first single 'Domino', alongside an accompanying video.
Watch the video to 'Domino' here: https://youtu.be/f8XrhjIgswg
New Age Filth marks the band’s most ambitious material to date, recorded over five weeks with producer Kris Crummett. The energy and thought the band put into the release is apparent on 'Domino', astheir technical prowess shines with instruments dancing over one another as vocalist Donovan Melero belts out his signature vocals. Lyrically, the track centres around reflection of self and how past actions can affect others.
On writing 'Domino' Melero stated: “Reflecting is important. What we might discover in reflection can be a hard pill to swallow. I’m only as big as my weakest character flaw. I’m told that I talk a lot in my sleep, and these are the things I think I say.”
When HAIL THE SUN entered the studio to record what would become New Age Filth, they knew they were setting out to make their most collaborative and diverse album yet. The band, consisting of Donovan Melero (vocals/drums), Aric Garcia (guitar), John Stirrat (bass) and Shane Gann (guitar), spent a month living in an apartment attached to producer Kris Crummett’s studio which provided a much different experience from the creation of prior albums. The result is ten songs that find the band pushing their creative boundaries in every way. They’re heavier and poppier at the same time, proving their ability to be extremely technical in instrumentation while also unleashing some of the catchiest hooks they’ve ever created. The influence from genre-melding predecessors like Coheed and Cambria, At The Drive-In, and even Yes is apparent, but the sound is still very much a natural evolution from HAIL THE SUN’s past work.
The shifting musical compositions on New Age Filth perfectly accompany the emotive lyrical outpour found across the album. Continuing along the theme of reflection, Melero weaves through painful and emotional experiences of love, cynicism, and touches on how awful humans can be to one another. Set for release on 16th April, New Age Filth is sure to appease HAIL THE SUN’s powerful fanbase, who have been clamouring for more from the band since the release of 2018’s Mental Knife, and newcomers alike.

My thoughts on 'Domino' is pretty cool to listen too lyrically its feels like piece the veil mixed with some classic cohead and cambria, the track changes direction a couple of times in the first couple of mins which is awesome it shows too me some really cool ideas different things being tried, packed with melody and hooks, energy guitars with some punch and a mixture of some great tones. Domino is great really enjoyed this track.
Moving over to our next single this week and a brand new band
ONE LAST DAY unleash debut single
NOT READY TO DIE
OUT NOW
South-East rockers ONE LAST DAY are proud to unleash their debut single NOT READY TO DIE upon the world. With its deeply introspective lyrics, the track explores dark times that will resonate with many, but rather than accepting this as the reality we allow to dominate, the listener is reminded that we can choose our own outcome.
As with all debut tracks, this is the first opportunity to see what One Last Day has on offer, where they sit on the kick-ass spectrum. Not Ready To Die provides us with a riff-centric slice of accessible rock with the meat and muscle of metal. With a nuanced grasp of mixing different phrasings, the band effortlessly slide between rigid structure and blazing breakdowns, all neatly held together by the experienced vocals of Alex Willox (ex Bad Solution).
Alex Willox (vocals) brings some insight about the band and track:
"Since myself and the guys got in contact I felt an instant connection to their artistic passion and desire to play and immediately wanted to be a part of this brotherhood or fellowship. Let's say fellowship!
Not Ready To Die is a track that I feel many will resonate with during these trying times for many. If we can all take one thing away from this track it's, please don't give up on whatever journey you are on no matter the circumstance. We need to be there for each other.”,
John Harmsworth (guitar) continues:
"This track is living proof we can adjust our journeys. All band members had to be remote during the whole process which can be tough but like millions of others out there right now we are getting it done and learning boatloads of knowledge also.
Our way of being there for our friends and loved ones is through our passion of playing and delivering great music. We hope you will all enjoy our music too and cannot wait to fire away on this journey together!".

About One Last Day
It started with a single jam session between two guitar loving friends. Gareth Stapleton and John Harmsworth knew they had the start of something that could work. With a shared desire to deliver heavy yet accessible music, One Last Day's journey was born. Of course at this point there were no other members, no plan, not even the name!
Through the creative development, the guys started playing with different musicians and cementing the direction they wanted to progress, with the addition of Adrian Osman on drums, they found a kindred spirit and also the solid backdrop on which they could deliver. As active members of the South East music scene, they already knew of the vocal prowess of Alex Willox, and after a few hours in a dingy practice room, One Last Day had found it's voice, literally.
It's an interesting time to be setting out in the industry and One Last Day are accepting the challenge. One day soon, these guys will be tearing up stages everywhere, come along for the ride and remember where you heard them first!

My thoughts this is ONE LAST DAY debut single, not ready to die, I think the key thing to remember here is this is a band that have come out during a pandemic there are no guide books ever written for how to launch a band during a global pandemic when you can’t tour and barley rehearse together let along play any shows, so with that in mind, the
So with the being said Not ready opens with a bluesy style solo, the guitar work on this track is absolutely epic there constantly changing between chuggy riffs and little mini solos which is pretty cool, vocally I feel it’s a pretty safe display of melody. Overall, for the band’s first single its not terrible and I feel with time naturally they will grow and the songs will get stronger, it’s a decent place to begin and I enjoy their first single
Lastly our last single of the week

The band comment on the new album:
“This album is about telling stories that are presented through the lens of hindsight, regret and looking back. There are songs that celebrate life when faced with death, and others that speak to the choices we make about how we live our lives. The fear of love, newfound respect for life and the covering up of depression are all subjects that rear their head. The Greatest Mistake Of My Life exercises emotion in many ways, and that was an important thing for us to do, because emotion isn’t rigid – it’s not just love or joy or sadness – it’s a lot of things.”
HOLDING ABSENCE is:
Lucas Woodland - Vocals
Scott Carey - Guitar
James Joseph - Bass
Ashley Green - Drums
